Only 11,606, one owner, original miles, I repeat 11,606 original miles.
This beauty drives like a dream and has plenty of power to pull with a Ford 460
fuel injection engine. In 1993, at a cost of over $5000 it’s drive train
was upgraded with Doug Thorley
stainless steel headers, Flowmaster mufflers and a Gear Vendor over/under drive.
Not to mention it is also equipped with it’s own factory push button overdrive
transmission. Steer Safe Stabilizers have also been added to reduce the
effects of passing trucks and provides protection against soft shoulders.
I personally had an opportunity to drive this coach 200 miles (Yuma, Arizona to San
Diego, California), pulling a 4000 pound trailer. The trip took me from
sea level to almost 5000’ in elevation and she didn’t miss a beat. We have
inspected all major systems and they are functioning properly, but please, third
party inspections are welcomed (at buyer expense naturally).
Excellent floor plan (see PHOTO GALLERY) allows sleeping for up to 6 persons. The spacious rear bedroom has a queen island bed with lift up storage compartment. Up front lounge area is equipped with a comfortable sofa/sleeper, swivel/recliner chair and full 4-person dinette that easily converts into a sleeper. Private side bath has separate fiberglass tub/shower and ample cabinets and counter space. As the saying goes, “one picture is worth a thousand words” and if you want to see any certain area in more detail please contact me for more photos or info.
The exterior is in excellent condition, except for one small crack in the plastic of the rear bumper. We have patched this area with silicone. I have included a photo of this, so you be the judge. This is a basement model RV and that means loads of exterior storage, some compartment with pass through. The tires are like new (90% tread and no sidewall cracks) Bridgestone steel belted radial tires with stainless steel wheel liners. The whole coach has been hand waxed and the roof has been checked for leaks.
Before I list the options and features, please let me add that if you are considering the purchase of this or any motor home and you’re the average American who works hard for their money…. remember RV’s never appreciate in value. Doesn’t mean you can’t sell one for more than you paid for it. But as a rule of thumb, their value is constantly falling. Kelly Blue Book comes out 3 times a year and very rarely does an RV ever go up in value and the newer they are the faster the values falls. In my opinion, this means the less you spend, the happier you’ll be!
New, with it’s added upgrades the original owner spent over $70,000 for this RV. It has now depreciated over half of it’s value in 10 years….and that hurts. But on the bright side, it now can be owned and driven with very little depreciation. Put another 40,000 miles on this one and it still concerned low miles. Kelly Blue Book says for a 1990 model you do not deduct $$$ till the odometer hits 67,000 miles, anything less is an add in value.
In the business, motor homes like this Dolphin are referred to as ‘stand up units’, ‘ cream puffs’ or just plain ‘sweet’. What that really means to you is, this one is extra clean inside and out, non-smoking, no pets, hasn’t been used as a full time live aboard and most importantly, well maintained. Once again we will not hesitate for third party inspections at the buyers expense.

Starting as a glorified hobby in January 1995 we have quickly grown to selling over 125 pre owned RV’s (motor homes, trailers and 5th wheels) per year. The inventory we have is personally owned and is not consigned. We found that most parties that wanted to leave consigned RV’s for sale did not care to invest any more $$$ into cleaning and refurbishing. Well, that’s the first thing that we do here…spend more money on each unit that we buy. If the refrigerator doesn’t work, we fix it. If the roof a/c doesn’t blow cold, it’s repaired. If it’s dirty, we clean it. Would you believe most used RV’s have never been washed, waxed or detailed properly. You’d be surprised what 40 man hours (on the average) can do for a coach. And since we own what we sell, we’re as cautious as you would be when buying a pre owned vehicle. The last thing we want to do is spend good money on bad inventory with major problems and even worst pass them on to a customer. As I stated above....can you as a buyer, have a qualified third party inspect any of our coaches?….you bet! In over 8 years of selling used RV’s I’ve never lost a sale due to a pre purchase inspection….I welcome them. Please remember, no one can make a used motor home 100% perfect, if that is your desire, brand new is the only way to go and sometimes they are not perfect . From our beginnings we have used the "Why Don't You Sleep On It" approach to sales. We feel a buyer with reliable information and no pressure is much more satisfied with their purchase. With this philosophy, attitude and answering all questions to the best of our ability, has kept this business growing and our customers happy.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
As with most used vehicles this one is sold as is - where is, without warrantee either expressed or implied. If interested we have an after market warrantee available through DSF that can cover any motor home with less than 100,000 miles and 12 or less years old. A non refundable deposit to be paid within 5 business days of close of this auction equal to 10% of the selling price by Cash, Cashier’s Check or Direct Wire Transfer to our bank account. The balance to be paid by Cash or Direct Wire Transfer within 10 business days of close of auction (unless other arrangements are made). Pick up of the vehicle to be accomplished within 15 business days of close of auction or at a mutually agreed upon time between the seller and the winning bidder. If you don’t agree with these terms or are not serious about purchasing this vehicle then please don’t bid, as we wish to have a real sale at the end of this auction.
